For Arturia users familiar with the Augmented Series, Augmented BRASS comes with a bunch of new features.
We will describe briefly those new features below.
For more detailed information about them, please download the Augmented BRASS user manual from our Downloads & Manuals page.
In Layer A and B, among the different 'Synth' engines, you can now find a sample engine called Simpler.
Thanks to its visualizer and the different parameters available, you'll be able to easily tweak your sample and the way it's being played, resulting in interesting textures, and giving a lot of character to your sound.
Each part of a layer can now be panned independently from the other thanks to individual pan controls.
Note
If you want the output panning of part 1 and part 2 to be the same, you can link the two parts by clicking on the link symbol found in between Pan A1 and A2..
In the same spirit, Vibrato and Tremolo effects can now be freely assigned to each part of Layer A and Layer B.
Hovering a parameter will make a + symbol appear, and allow you to assign this parameter to the different modulation sources found in the modulation strip.
When hovering a parameter, you can also easily know the modulation routings you've created thanks to the visual display.
You now have a new option of tuning for the two Sampler engines.
If you choose Kbd Offset, it lets you shift the keyboard to playback in a different range, with a set of discrete values.
Note
The visual feedback we have implemented to display the range of each articulation dynamically changes based on the value you've chosen for Kbd Offset.
For the Chamber and Orchestral Brass samples in Augmented BRASS, two distinct microphone positions were used: close and far.
As a result, both sets of samples have specific controls.
-
Width Clos: Adjusts the stereo width of the close mic sample.
-
Width Far: Adjusts the stereo width of the far mic sample.
- Mix: Blends between close mic and far mic recordings.
Tip
Play around with the mic positions and the width controls to give a new dimension to your sound.
New parameters have been added to Pitch Shift Delay and Tape Delay.
Detune: You can now set the detune between the left and right channels.
Fine: You can now fine-tune the delay time in milliseconds (from -50.0ms to 50.0ms).
