It is very easy to register and activate your product through our website and the Arturia Software Center.
For a step-by-step registration and activation process, please read the following FAQ article:
When the Mix Envelope is inactive, the joystick blends the waveforms in real time.
When the Mix Envelope is active, it overrides the joystick. If you move the joystick while the Mix Envelope is running, it acts as an offset.
If you trig a new note, the start point of the enveloppe will be re-trig, independently of the joystick position
This is a design choice, to recreate the behavior of the original unit.
If you enable the Modulation by clicking on the eye icon in the advanced panel, you will be able to visualize the real oscillators mix taking into consideration the joystick position and all modulations applied to it.
This reproduces the behaviors caused by analog components’ tolerance drifting and aging.
The Voice dispersion section is located above the center of the virtual keyboard.
There are 3 factory variations which correspond to a subtle, fair and strong amount of voice dispersion (buttons 1, 2 and 3), but you can also select the Custom button which lets you define the voice dispersion manually from the trimmers on the right of the section.
Each trimmer defines the amount of voice dispersion brought to the given parameter:
Applies dispersion to the... | |
Filter cutoff | |
Filter resonance | |
VCA levels | |
VCA panning |
By default, enabling the Unison will set 8 voices of polyphony, like the original hardware.
You can change the unison voice number in the bottom tool bar of the Prophet-VS V:
Like on the original hardware, increasing the unison detune will detune the voices, but only with incremental values.
If you increase too much the detune, the Prophet-VS V can be barely one semitone too high.
You can import samples into the Prophet-VS V:
The Prophet-VS V is a single cycle oscillator synth: it will loop just a small section of your sample. It could sound really different from your original sample.
Sample supported formats:
- wav
- flac
- aif
- aiff
The Prophet-VS V offers a dedicated panning section per voice, like on the original unit.
There is also a spread parameter, allowing to control the global amount of voice panning.
If you set panning and your sound is still sounding mono, it is probably because the Pan Spread is low.
The Prophet-VS V let's you choice 2 glide behaviors, accessible from the side panel.
- Notes: classic glide behavior, each new note glides from the previous one
- Original: each voice glides with itself, which can lead to really creative and random behavior, as on the original unit
