The MIDI Control Center allows to update the firmware for all the following products:
Lab, Step, Brute ranges products, MicroFreak & Spark controllers apart from AstroLab, PolyBrute & PolyBrute 12.
For products not handled by MIDI Control Center (MCC), refer to the following article:
To update your device firmware via Midi Control Center, please follow the procedures described below.
1) Connect your MIDI Controller
- Connect your device to your computer. To avoid any connection issues, make sure to connect your unit directly to the computer via USB.
2) Download and install MIDI Control Center (MCC).
- To update your device firmware you need to use MIDI Control Center (MCC). If you don't have it, please download it here: MIDI Control Center (MCC).
3) Launch automatic firmware update
- If the unit is not up to date, the MCC notifies you that a new version is available. Clicking on "Firmware Revision" displays a pop-up and clicking on "Download latest" installs the firmware automatically. If not, proceed to next step.
If you connect your controller after opening the MCC, you will have to select your device in the dropdown menu.
4) Get the firmware update file
- If you need to reinstall the firmware or downgrade to a previous version, it's up to you to provide the firmware file. You can download it from the link below with the help of the product name:

5) Update your firmware
After downloading the file, just click on the "Firmware Revision" and then on "Upgrade". Now, load the firmware file to launch the process.
At the end of the update process, your device should be up-to-date.

Here is how to put your device in Bootloader mode in order to force another manual update of the firmware (such will require to manually download the firmware file here as explained in the section above):

You can now go back to the procedure described above to update your device's firmware.
Notes
-Make sure to connect your unit directly to the computer via USB without using any kind of USB HUB, Extension, Adapter or Dock.
-If your computer only has USB-C ports, please make sure that you are using a good quality cable to connect your unit to avoid connection issues:
- USB-B to USB-C
- microUSB to USB-C
- miniUSB to USB-C
-Make sure to also test different USB ports and if needed on another computer to confirm if the same issues are happening.
