First, make sure to connect your unit directly to the computer via USB without using any kind of USB HUB, Extension, Adapter or Dock.
If your computer only has USB-C ports, please make sure that you are using a good quality cable to connect your unit to avoid connection issues:
- USB-B to USB-C
- microUSB to USB-C
- miniUSB to USB-C
From there, please follow the procedures described below.
To update the firmware for all Lab range controllers (MicroLab, MiniLab, KeyLab Essential, KeyLab), simply download the MIDI Control Center (MCC). It will automatically scan your product, and prompt you to update to the latest version.
For more detailed information, you can either refer to the video, or the written steps below:
Here are the steps:
- A) Connect your MIDI Controller.
- B) Download and install the MIDI Control Center (MCC).
- C) Open the MCC, and follow the procedure indicated in the software to complete your firmware update. (If you connect your controller after opening the MCC, you will have to select your device in the dropdown menu.)
- D) Once the firmware update is finished in the MCC, your MIDI controller should be up-to-date.
This process works for all Lab range controllers, and all versions of: MicroLab, MiniLab, KeyLab Essential, KeyLab.

Here is how to update your device's firmware:

A) Download the latest firmware version from Downloads & Manuals.

B) Open the Midi Control Center (MCC) and click on the Firmware Revision button.

C) Click on “ Upgrade ".

D) Select the firmware file and click on " Open".

E) Click on " OK " to start the upgrade process.

The firmware update should now run smoothly.
If it doesn't, force the unit to start in Bootloader mode.
