Choosing your own custom resource path is useful if you’re working with multiple drives/devices or limited internal storage.
Note
A folder named "Arturia" will automatically be created at the end of the path you've chosen.
When multiple instruments or FXs are installed, this folder can become large in size - especially worth considering if you’re working with a small HDD or SSD.
On the first launch, the Arturia Software Center lets you customize your Resources folder location.
To do this, use the following instructions :
- Open the new Arturia Software Center for the first time, and click on “Next”.
- Select the location where you want to install the folder by clicking on “Browse”.
- Click on “Yes” on the validation pop-up window.
- Choose your desired location in the browser and click on “Open” (in this example, it’s an external SSD drive).
- A loading window will appear - please wait until the full process is done.
- Your resources are now installed in your custom folder location.
Arturia Software Center also lets you move your already existing "Resources" folder to another location.
When you select a new location, resources files will be automatically moved into this new folder.
To do this, refer to the following instructions :
- In the Arturia Software Center, go to "Preferences".
- Open the "Folders" section and click on "Move".
- Read and acknowledge the warning message.
- In your browser, select a new location for your "Resources" folder and click “Open” to initiate the transfer.
- Wait while the files are copied, this process can take up to one hour.
/!\ During the transfer process, do not disconnect your internet connection /!\
- The transfer process ends after 90%. For the final 10% of the process, Arturia Software Center will remove all files from the previous location. When doing so, the “Cancel” button will temporarily disappear to ensure that the process is completed without interruption.
If you've moved your Resources folder and the Arturia Software Center can't locate it, please do as follows:
- In the Arturia Software Center, go to "Preferences".
- Open the "Folders" section and click on "Browse".
- Read and acknowledge the warning message.
- In your browser, select the current location of your "Resources" folder and click on “Open”.
- The ASC should now acknowledge the current location of your "Resources" folder.
Note
If you've changed your mind about the location of your folder, simply click on "Reset".
- For optimal performance, the usage of an SSD is recommended.
- Do not disconnect your internet connection during the transfer.
- Do not interrupt the process during the final 10% of the transfer.
- This customisation feature isn't designed to share one single folder located on an external drive containing all your resources across multiple computers.
- The new resources path link will not be updated.
- The unused resource files will not be deleted.
The default location is :
-
- Mac : /Library/Arturia
- Windows : C:/ProgramData/Arturia
