You will find below how to update your unit firmware via MiniFreak V.
1) Register your product
- Check that your MiniFreak V is registered into your account. If not, click on “Register New Product” from your account page.
- Enter your serial number and unlock code and then confirm your registration. You will receive a confirmation mail.
2) Activate and install or update MiniFreak V
- Make sure you have installed the Arturia Software Center to be able to activate your licence.
- Follow the activation and installation or update procedure.
3) Connect your MiniFreak to your computer
- Link your MiniFreak to your computer.
- To avoid any connection issues, make sure to connect your unit directly to the computer via USB without using any kind of USB HUB, Extension, Adapter or Dock.
4) Launch the automatic firmware update
- Once your MiniFreak is connected, make sure to open MiniFreak V as a standalone application.
- If the unit is not up to date, the MiniFreak V notifies you when you open the pop-up and suggests that you upgrade the firmware automatically. And now, you’re done. If not, proceed to the next step.
5) Get the firmware update file
- If you need to reinstall the firmware or downgrade to a previous version, it’s up to you to provide the firmware file.
- You can download it from the website by typing in the product name : https://www.arturia.com/fr/support/downloads-manuals
6) Update your firmware
- If there is no pop-up, just simply click on the “FW Update” and then on “Update from file”.
- Now, load the update file. It will automatically launch the process.
- Please note that this only works for MiniFreak synthesizers.
In case you are facing issues updating your MiniFreak, please refer to the following steps depending on the situation you're in :
Case 1: The update is successfull but the unit does not reboot by itself.

Please make sure to reboot the unit using the bootloader mode :
Do not quit or relaunch MiniFreak V in the meantime.
Case 2: The update failed, during the process of the update.

Do not quit or relaunch MiniFreak V in the meantime.
Case 1: The update is successfull but the unit does not reboot by itself.

- Hold 'Shift' and 'Oct -'
- Power the unit
