- The "PolyBrute Midi" port is used to send and receive Midi messages.
- The "PolyBrute VST" port is exclusively used for communications with PolyBrute Connect with the help of NRPNs (and for some diagnosis purposes).
Make sure your DAW is NOT using the "PolyBrute VST" Port and make sure not to select it on any Midi tracks otherwise PolyBrute Connect will not be able to use it.
If you would like recording MIDI information from your PolyBrute or send your DAW transport messages to the PolyBrute for exemple you will need to use the "PolyBrute MIDI" port.
- Make sure the PolyBrute is connected to your computer via USB:
- Open an instance of PolyBrute Connect in a virtual instrument track:
- Make sure the PolyBrute’s audio outputs are connected to inputs on your audio interface.
- Create an audio track and assign those same inputs to capture the PolyBrute’s audio:

Multiple instances of PolyBrute Connect can be open at the same time, as you might want to use it
in multiple tracks in your DAW.
However, only one can be actively sync to the PolyBrute at a time.
If an instance is already in place, opening another will display the following message:
Clicking "Connect" will then re-synchronize the PolyBrute with this instance.
PolyBrute Connect is communicating with PolyBrute and PolyBrute 12 with the help of NRPN messages.
While in use, it prevents any Midi CC messages to be outputted to avoid any potential conflicts.
If you would like sending Midi CC messages from PolyBrute and PolyBrute 12 make sure to first disconnect PolyBrute Connect plug-ins and make sure that no Standalone version is in use as well.
To disconnect PolyBrute Connect, make sure to click on the "Linked to PolyBrute" button on the plug-in instance currently linked to the unit:
From there, as long as the "Enable CCs" option is set to "On" you should see these messages forwarded as expected:
Make sure your DAW is NOT using the "PolyBrute VST" Port otherwise PolyBrute Connect will not be able to use it.
