Note
- If the button is not displayed, make sure to not only close Analog Lab, but also to ensure that the unit is being properly identified by your operating system. Once this is done, please open Analog Lab once again.
- In case any device detection issues persist, you can refer to the USB Detection Issues FAQ article.
- Only one Analog Lab instance can be linked to the unit at a time.
- The Link function won't work with different plug-in formats of Analog Lab in the same DAW session.
Note
Make sure to always use either VST2 / VST3 or AU formats only. Inserting mixed plug-ins formats will render the Link inoperative.
- In Standalone mode, AstroLab will always send the preset currently loaded to Analog Lab.
- In a DAW environment, Analog Lab will always be the one sending the preset to AstroLab.
Notes
- If you just edited or created a preset in Analog Lab in standalone mode, make sure to save your preset in Analog Lab first, before linking Analog Lab to your AstroLab.
- If you just edited or created a preset on AstroLab while using Analog Lab as a plug-in in a DAW, make sure to save your preset on AstroLab first, before linking Analog Lab to your AstroLab.
Notes
When editing instrument parameters from the instrument's Advanced panel (when owning the instrument license or the V Collection bundle), presets will have to be saved locally and then stored on the unit, for these modifications to be considered.
Notes
-
Delay, Reverb, and Pan part assignments will have to be edited from Analog Lab directly, the preset to be saved, and then be stored on the AstroLab.
- Convolution Reverb will be disabled in some instruments due to their high CPU usage: the Augmented series instruments, B3-V2, Piano V3, Solina V2, Stage-73 V2, and Wurli V2.
Notes
Importing playlists from the USB Host port won't include samples. Before transferring your playlists, make sure to always first transfer all the needed presets to AstroLab for presets to include their samples.
Please refer to the Presets/banks and Playlists transfer FAQ article for further details.
By default, expression pedal is currently Hard mapped to B-3 V or Stage-73 V instrument Volume.
On other presets, expression pedal may not be always mapped to parameters.
For now, you can only assign expression pedal to the Studio settings (mainly on effects parameters).
To do so, please do as follows:
1/ Connect the AstroLab to the computer, open Analog Lab and link the AstroLab:
2/ Go to the AstroLab Library and select a preset:
3/ At the bottom of Analog Lab window, click on the "Keyb. Settings" button:
4/ In the "Control Assign" section click on the box above Expression to select the destination:
5/ In the "Expression Destination" pop-up, select "Assign":
6/The Studio view will open and let you assign (in purple) any effect parameter to the expression pedal, here for example the Chorus LFO freq:
7/ If you want this modification to be heard in the AstroLab, don't forget to "Save as" in the Analog Lab menu; and choose a new name for it:
8/ Then Drag and Drop this new preset to the AstroLab memory if the original preset wasn't in the AstroLab's memory in the first place:
