The Matrix can refer to two things on the PolyBrute: The Matrix Panel, which is the 8x12 bank of square buttons. This panel has different modes: it can directly call up Presets, access modulations routing (Mods), let you program the Sequencer, or edit Morphing functions.
Then, there’s the PolyBrute’s extensive modulation Matrix, i.e. what the Matrix Panel does when it’s in Mods mode. That’s what we mean by Matrix in this part of the FAQ.

First used on the MatrixBrute synthesizer, the Matrix functions a lot like a modular synth system, only without patch cables. You can assign any of the 12 available sources to almost any destination.
Nearly any parameter on the PolyBrute can be a modulation destination.

Rows are sources. Columns are destinations.
We refer to the intersection of a row and column as a cell.
Active modulation cells (routing) are lit in blue, while the currently selected cell is purple.

When the panel is in Mods mode, the display shows up to four pages of eight destinations each, for a total of 32 possible destinations per Preset.
To select a page, press numeric buttons 1-4.
To change the destination in a given slot, press and hold the numeric button that corresponds to that slot, then simply move the control on the panel for the destination you’d like.
Also, the Amount knob accesses additional eligible destinations that do not have a dedicated control knob on the front panel.
